Visit of the Hon'ble President of India Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam


	On 16th of March 2007, Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya had the privilege of the visit of His Excellency the President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul kalam. In his speech, the President appreciated the untiring efforts of SSN towards social services that it has been rendering since inception.

Introducing SSN, a centre of Excellence Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, located in Guwahati, Assam, India besides being a world class eye hospital and Service Organisation, is also an acclaimed center for Postgraduate training, research and rehabilitation. Within 10 years of its humble beginnings in 1994, the Institution has grown over 10 times only to maintain its unflinching commitment to the ever increasing patient fraternity.

Divine grace, people's participation, untiring human effort and efficient management are the key factors behind this achievement. The Institution has chalked out many other programmes for future implementation, keeping in mind the human need.

On November 21, 2004 The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh has declared this renowned institution as a "CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE"

Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya has been awarded the certificate of registration certifying that SSN operates a quality management system which has been assessed as conforming to ISO 9001:2008 for ophthalmic care services. This is the first eye hospital in North Eastern region of India to have achieved this recognition.
