Dr. Kasturi Bhattacharjee has won the AIOS election 2023 for the prestigious post of ARC East Zone. She has also won an astounding four glorious AIOS scientific awards at the annual conference held in Kochi.

Dr.(Mrs.) Kasturi Bhattacharjee, MS, DNB,FRCSEd, FRCS (Glasg.), FAICO (Orbit and Oculoplasty), Director (Clinical and Academics) of SRI SANKARADEVA NETHRALAYA, GUWAHATI has made an outstanding achievement to be the first Lady Ophthalmologist of India to have received 5 awards from All India Ophthalmological Society for her work in Ophthalmology. Recently she was awarded the "Sujatha Savithri Rao Award" for the Best scientific free paper on Orbit nad Oculoplasty from AIOC 2014.

Being the first Lady FRCS from Edinburg (UK) of North East India she is the recipient of more than 20 awards for her work in Ophthalmology. She is the only Ophthalmologist of North east India to have received the most prestigious "Col RANGACHARI Award" for her innovative research work in socket reconstruction. The other prestigious awards to her credit from All India Ophthalmological Society are the "E T SELVAM Award" 2009, "Sante Vision award" for her work in Cataract, 2005 and the "Best Free paper Award in Lacrimal", 2015

She was honoured with Gold Medal in the year 2006 by Intraocular Implant and Refractive society of India, for her outstanding contribution in Cataract and Refractive surgeries.

She is the first and only Lady Ophthalmologist of India to be elected as the Vice President of ASIA PACIFIC SOCIETY OF OPHTHALMIC PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERIES, 2014 and to be an Examiner of FRCS, Glasgow for the last 9 years. In April 2015, she has been invited as a teaching faculty by American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery to San Diego, California.
