After graduating from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, he joined New India Assurance Company in 1968. After a tenure of 40 years, he retired as Manager from CMD Secretariat, Mumbai in the year 2008. During his service, he was posted in Guwahati for nearly 16 years and he was deeply involved with the various activities of Kanchi Math.
He was associated with Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya as a trustee of the parent trust Sri Kanchi Sankara Health & Educational Foundation since 30th August’1997 till his demise. He was working in the capacity of executive trustee and took keen interest in the day-to-day activities of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya.
