3 Auto Keratometers (Nidek) with 1 manual Keratometer, which are used to measure the degree of refractive error in the eye.
1 Confocal Microscope (Nidek) for detailed corneal analysis.
1 Corneal Topograph (Tomey) for mapping the anterior curvature of the cornea
1 HRT/ Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph (HeidelbergEngineering) which is used for examining the cornea and certain areas of the retina for the early detection and follow-up of the glaucoma.
2FundusCameras (Carl Zeiss); which give support for fundus screening
2 Nos 532s Green Lasers, which provide support for laser Retinal Therapy treatment
2 Diode lasers which provide support for laser therapy
3 Visual Field Analyzers (CarlZeiss) and 1 Humphrey Frequency Doubling Technology (CarlZeiss) for carrying out Visual Field Analysis.
1 MF ERG/Multifocal ElectroRetinoGraphy Machine (EDI), which is used in neuro-ophthalmology and Neurovision Therapy.
3 Optical Biometers (CarlZeiss) are in use in the Investigation Department, for measuring the anatomical characteristics of the eye.
2 Pattern Lasers (OptiMedica) are in use at the Investigations Department for the purpose of Pan-retinal photocoagulation.
1 PDT Laser (Carl Zeiss) is used for the process of Photodynamic Thermo Therapy.
The Investigations Department also uses 1 Pentacam (Oculus) which evaluates the shape and power of the corneal surface.
2 Photo Slit Lamps (HaagStreit), used in following progression or changes in specific pathology such as new vessels, cataracts and pterygium.
1 Specular Microscope (Topcon); used in theevaluation of corneal endothelium in healthy and various diseased states.
1 Ultra Wide Field Fundus Camera (Optos); used to photograph the interior surface of the eye, including the retina, retinal vasculature, optic disc, macula, and posterior pole.
The Hospital’s OTs deploy 2 YAGLasers (CarlZeiss) and 1 YAG Laser with Floaters (Ellex) which are used to clear the frosting from the back surface of an intraocular lens.
All our Out Patient Departments are equipped with all the equipment necessary for the proper examination of the Patients’ eyes. The most significant equipments in use are:
70 Applanation Tonometers (Haag Streit) and 10 Non Contact Tonometers(Topcon); for measuring the fluid pressure in the eye.
4 Auto Chart Projectors (Nidek); to test the patient’s visual acuity such as Myopia or Hyperopia.
10 Auto Lensmeters (Nidek); used to verify the prescription in eyeglass lenses.
14 Auto Refractometers (Nidek); used to provide an objective measurement of a person's refractive power and prescription for glasses or contact lenses.
64 Vision Drums (Appasamy Associates) and 10 LED Vision Charts (Appasamy Associates) used in Vision examination.
We have 72 Slit Lamps; 68 Direct Ophthalmoscopes and Retinoscopes; 68 Trial lens Boxes as primary examination equipment of the OPDs
